Feather wedges - splitting wedges 16/24/32 mm
These feather wedges (also known as splitting wedges or plug and feather sets) are used for splitting rock and stone.
Briefly on the application technique:
First, drill a hole matching one of the wedge diameters (16 mm / 24 mm / 32 mm).
It is important that the borehole is at least the length of the wedge - it is recommended to drill the borehole approx. 1-2 cm deeper.
The two 'feathers' are then inserted into the borehole and the wedge is driven between them.
For the rock to fracture well, the borehole must be positioned so that the rock can break away in a free direction.
If you want to split a longer piece or a larger block, drill several holes spaced approximately by the borehole
diameter in cm (for a 24 mm hole, spaced at approx. 24 cm).
In these wedge sets, the wedges are significantly longer than in many similar sets, which
ensures that the stone is split wide enough accordingly. Please also refer to the photos.
Length of wedges: approx. 12.5 / 18.5 / 28.5 cm (dimensions in ascending order of size)
Length of feather: approx. 6.5 / 11.5 / 14.5 cm (dimensions in ascending order of size)
