A nugget is a lump that has formed naturally. Normally these
nuggets are only dust- or grain-sized, but there are a few metals (copper, gold, platinum) that occur as sizable nuggets.
Copper is one of the semi-precious metals and, due to its properties, is nowadays an irreplaceable raw material in technical applications as well.
These beautiful, naturally grown copper nuggets are approx. 3 - 5 cm in size.
Locality: Caledonia Mine, Keweenaw Peninsula, Michigan/USA.
