Flint nodule from Neuburg an der Donau (Bavaria)
This extraordinary flint nodule, split into two halves, originates from the well-known locality Neuburg an der Donau in Bavaria. The nodule was precisely cut to fully reveal the fascinating inner structures of this classic chert rock.
While the outer sides display the typical, natural, and rough cortex of the nodule, the two flat cut surfaces have been meticulously polished. As a result, the characteristic, concentrically zoned pattern inside comes into its own exceptionally well in harmonious shades of gray and beige.
With representative dimensions of approx. 11.6 x 7.5 x 6.6 cm and a weight of approx. 328 g, this decorative pair is an ideal collector piece for mineral and rock enthusiasts, as well as a striking decorative object for the specialized trade.
