Beautiful donuts have been cut from bluish, yellow nellite!
Donuts are also commonly called pi disks/bi disks (from the Chinese).
Nellite is a mixture of three different gemstones: tiger's eye, hawk's eye, and quartz.
Nellite is therefore similar to pietersite.
Together they produce an interesting and beautiful appearance!
Nellite is mined at only a single mine in South Africa, which is near a tiger's eye deposit.
The donuts have a diameter of approx. 40 mm.
