Mahogany obsidian
These are natural rough stones of mahogany obsidian, with beautiful, glossy surfaces all around.
They also show the typical conchoidal fractures.
Obsidian forms when lava rock solidifies under very special conditions.
Because of its extremely sharp fracture surfaces, obsidian was and still is used for making tools.
Still popular today among flintknappers.
The pieces are approx. 5 - 20 cm in size!
Occasionally, somewhat larger and smaller pieces may be included!
