Snowflake Obsidian Rough Stones
Natural rough stones of snowflake obsidian.
Partly conchoidally fractured with sharp edges, partly naturally matte rough stones.
Small white spots are distributed on the black obsidian - which is precisely what gave it
its name.
The individual pieces are approx. 3 - 10 cm in size and you receive about 3 - 6 pieces per kg.
Obsidian forms when lava rock solidifies under very special conditions.
Because of this fracture, obsidian was used in the Stone Age to make tools.
Still popular with flintknappers today.
