Large rough stones of blue amber (Sumatra amber) - a new find from Indonesia!
'Blue' amber
Here you get rough stones of so-called blue amber - also known as Sumatra amber.
Some of these amber pieces already show a slight blue tinge or a blue shimmer in daylight.
At the latest under UV light, this blue amber shows its luminosity and fluorescent properties.
(the intensely blue photos were taken with this UV lamp) .
When the stones are held against normal (sun-) light, this amber shimmers in brown/yellow shades as known from
'normal' amber. According to analyses, the age is estimated at 23 million years - so genuine amber, NOT copal!
Some of the amber pieces are whitish/gray with woody structures - hence the name 'wood amber'.
You will receive pieces with a size of approx. 11 - 17 cm (+/-), with the piece weight ranging between approx. 100 - 250 g (+/-).
These are the same blue amber pieces as Art. No. 10157, only the size sorting is different.
Larger pieces are rarer, and therefore more expensive!
The size of this amber is fascinating - other amber of similar size is disproportionately more expensive!
1 kg contains approximately 4 - 15 pieces.
