Thulite rough stones, A-grade
Thulite is a rare variety of zoisite and was named in the 19th century after the mythical island of "Thule".
Notable thulite (manganese zoisite) deposits exist only in Norway, which limits mining and availability.
Furthermore, the locality in Leksvik is difficult to access - it is situated on a high plateau in a marshland.
In contrast to the frequently offered thulite-bearing rock (known in the trade as thulite-piemontite quartz), our
rough stones are of above-average good quality with a very high thulite content (see also testing
by the EPI Gemological Laboratory). Further details can be found in the test certificate .
In this offer, you are purchasing 1 kg of the typically pink-colored thulite rough stones in A-grade (intense color, hard).
The rough stones range in size from approx. 5 - 20 cm. Please order multiple kg for larger pieces.
Occasionally, slightly larger or smaller pieces may be included!
