Thulite - small rough stones
Thulite is a rare variety of zoisite and was named in the 19th century after the mythical island "Thule".
Notable deposits of thulite (manganese zoisite) exist only in Norway, which restricts mining and availability.
The deposit is also difficult to access - located on a high plateau in a marsh.
In contrast to often-offered thulite-bearing rock (known in the trade as thulite-piemontite quartz), our
rough stones have an above-average good quality with a very high proportion of thulite (see also tests
by the EPI Gemological Laboratory). Further details can be found in the test certificate .
The stones are approx. 2 - 4 cm in size. 1 kg contains approx. 20 - 27 pieces.
Depending on the size and availability of the individual rough stones, the delivered
number of pieces may differ from the description!
