Platonic Solids set - shungite
These Platonic solids were hand-cut from shungite.
The set contains a tetrahedron, a hexahedron (cube), an octahedron, an icosahedron, and a dodecahedron.
The name goes back to the Greek philosopher Plato, and the names of the individual solids describe their shape.
A tetrahedron consists of equilateral triangles, a hexahedron is a cube, an octahedron again presents
equilateral triangles (this time with eight faces), a dodecahedron consists of regular pentagons, and an icosahedron
again presents equilateral triangles - with 20 faces. They represent the four elements: fire, earth, air, and water,
as well as the universe and can have a supportive effect when it comes to organizing one's own thought patterns and
bringing oneself and one's body into harmony. The solids each have a size of approx. 2 - 3 cm.
These Platonic solids are cut as precisely as possible. The cut is made piece by piece by hand and therefore does not
correspond to a scientifically or mathematically highly precise object.
